Kathi Gerspach, MA Professional Counseling, George Fox University; Oregon TSPC Licensed Educator

Kathi has a Masters degree in Professional Counseling from George Fox University. She has counseled youth, adults and families in the community mental-health sector, and has 22 years of experience as a behavior specialist teaching alternative education and special education at the middle and high school levels.  She works within the strength-based approaches of Adlerian Therapy and Solution-focused Therapy.  Kathi has extensive experience working with adults, youth and their parents, especially those who feel marginalized, or struggle with behavior, learning or social issues.  Her areas of special interest and experience include life transitions and recovery from depression, anxiety, addiction, various types of abuse, and relational difficulties.   Her goal is to creatively collaborate with individuals, couples and families to improve their present experience of life, and transform relationships in ways that inspire a meaningful and hope-filled future.

Culturally Sensitive and Community Minded

Kathi believes our attitudes reflect our world view, and our world view informs the way we approach life. It is human nature to seek identity and encouragement through belonging. Yet, so often our search is sabotaged by misinformation and missed opportunities. These in turn may lead us to attitudes of discouragement and hopelessness.

As a therapist, Kathi's goal is to foster an atmosphere of hope that will enable clients to harness their unused or underused power to change, and to partner with them to move forward toward experiencing the sense of belonging they seek. The ultimate goal is for each client to experience a sense of belonging so deep, it becomes a part of your DNA.
